Redeemer Baptist Church of Panama is a new church plant that was launched on November 27, 2016. About three years earlier, Grace Fellowship had closed their doors as a church. The remaining members continued a few ministries like a food pantry, clothing pantry, and a youth outreach meeting on Wednesday nights. These faithful few were committed to seeing a Baptist presence in Panama, IL, and they came to a point where they felt God wanted them to invite a new church plant to come use the building.
RBC Panama is a Southern Baptist Church. We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000. We believe in meaningful church membership. We have adopted this Church Covenant, and as we live our lives together we seek to live it out as the promises we make to one another. Our leadership also affirms the Nashville Statement.
RBC Panama’s primary sending body is the Rehoboth Baptist Association. This is a Southern Baptist local association that covers a large area surrounding Vandalia, Illinois where it’s office is located. We also have partnerships with Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL, and First Baptist Church in Patoka, IL.
RBC Panama gives cooperatively as a Southern Baptist Church. We send 7% of our giving to the Illinois Baptist State Association to cooperate on a state and national level. We also send 3% to the Rehoboth Baptist Association to cooperate on a local level.
